By accessing or using TaxHQ (taxhq.ng), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Description of Service
TaxHQ provides:
- Tax calculators for Nigerian taxes (PIT, PAYE, VAT, CIT, WHT, etc.)
- Educational content about Nigerian tax laws
- Deduction finder tools
- Tax exemption and relief databases
- Document storage for tax-related files
- Tax deadline reminders (optional)
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
Some features require creating an account through Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.
3.2 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent or harmful activities. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use our services for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt our services
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Scrape, copy, or reproduce our content without permission
- Use automated systems to access our services excessively
- Impersonate others or provide false information
- Use our services to facilitate tax evasion or fraud
5. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of TaxHQ, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, code, and software, are owned by TaxHQ and protected by Nigerian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
6. User Content
You retain ownership of any data or documents you upload to TaxHQ. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide our services to you. We will not share your content with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
IMPORTANT: TaxHQ provides tax calculations and information for educational and planning purposes only. Our services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- Calculations will be error-free or accurate for your specific situation
- The service will be uninterrupted or secure
- Information reflects the most current tax laws
- Results will match official FIRS assessments
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxHQ and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, revenue, or data
- Tax penalties or interest due to calculation errors
- Costs of substitute services
- Any damages arising from your use of our services
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₦50,000, whichever is greater.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TaxHQ and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of our services, violation of these terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
10. Third-Party Services
Our services may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (e.g., Google Sign-In, FIRS TaxProMax). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of these third-party services.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
